The Experience

When you choose Furbaby Retreat, we promise that the cuddliest member of your family will receive more than your average cattery or cat boarding experience. From check-in to check-out, Furbaby Retreat has been created to be a unique, stress-free experience for both you and the precious cargo you wish you could take away with you.

Here we guide you through the entire Furbaby Retreat experience from the moment you make your booking to the moment you lovingly scoop your furbaby back into your arms at check-out time.

Step 1: The Booking Process

Booking your stay at Furbaby Retreat is an easy online experience. Simply select your preferred suite and let us know how many furbabies you’ll be checking in (for each additional furbaby we charge only a $25 flat rate per night, regardless of which suite you’ve booked). Next, fill in our detailed booking form to help us cater to your furbaby’s every whim. From their favourite food to their temperament, favourite scratching surface, handling and cuddle preferences, the more we know, the better. And remember, special considerations are given for kittens and senior furbabies too.

If you have any questions while booking or would prefer to book the old fashioned way, you can contact us directly.

Once you’ve booked you’ll receive confirmation of your payment via email.

Step 2: Prepare your feline family member for their stay

To ensure the health & safety of every guest, we’re vigilant in ensuring that every furbaby is up to date with their vaccinations, worm treatments and flea treatments when staying with us.

It’s essential that evidence of vaccinations are supplied from your family vet, ideally prior to check-in. At a minimum, all furbaby’s must have a current (i.e. within the last 12 months) F3vaccination. If your furbaby’s vaccination status is out of date, they must have a vaccination administered at least 2 weeks prior to visiting. All guests must also have had a recent worm and flea treatment that covers them for the full period of their stay.

Now all you need to do is pack your furbaby’s favourite things. We encourage you to bring things like their favourite toy (or toys), blankets they use regularly, something that smells like you, their brush or grooming equipment (if you prefer to use your own) and food if your furbaby has specialty food requirements. Please remember to label all items and food prior to check-in.

And no need to worry about a thing, whatever you don’t bring, we’ll supply.

Step 3: Check-in

Your check-in time will be confirmed at the time of your booking. Check-in is allocated in private 15-minute time slots to minimise stress and ensure a personalised welcome for every guest. Please bring your furbaby in a secure, escape-proof carry case.

Check-in is available during the following times:

Monday to Friday: 7:30am-12:00pm & 3:00pm-6:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-11:00am & 2:00pm-5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am-2:00pm

A reminder of your chosen check-in time will be sent to you the day prior.

Step 4: Be enriched!

Our enrichment program has been designed in consultation with vets and animal behaviouralists to make sure your furbaby is safe, healthy, secure and happy at all times…

The Furbaby Retreat Fun-Room and Play-Room offer private daily play time (only cats of the same household play together). Features include:

• A window to lounge in the sun
• Cat wall for the adventurous
• Secret nooks and crannies
• Climbing, jumping & scratching options
• Toys and games galore

Whether your furbaby is the social type who laps up the love or more of a quiet soul who prefers to roll solo, Furbaby Retreat has been set up to make sure every furbaby receives the same amount of cuddles and attention as they would at home. Whatever their preference, cuddles, scratches, rubs and brushes are always available on tap from our dedicated team.

Your furbaby will be fed only the best. Our vet approved menu includes:

• Hills Science Diet wet food
• Hills Science Diet dry food
• Raw Meow freeze dried meals and a range of ‘biologically appropriate’ wet and dry food for $4 extra per night
• A selection of premium treats to let them know they’re special throughout their stay.

All furbabies (or furbaby families) have plenty of space during their stay. To maximise health and happiness, furbabies from different families will have no interaction with each other. For full details of our cleaning and health regime see our FAQs.

Furbaby Retreat offers a choice of hotel suites to best suit your furbaby’s needs. Whether you choose our Standard, Five-Star or Penthouse suites, all accomodation options have individual areas to scratch, play, sleep and visit the litter tray.

Calming ‘cat’ music and Feliway diffusers are used throughout the hotel to offer ultimate relaxation during your furbaby’s stay. We also offer an optional television aspect, so your furbaby will feel like they are looking out into the great outdoors.

Step 5: Check-out

Your check-out time will be confirmed at the time of your booking. Check-out times are allocated in the same private 15-minute allocations as check-in.

A reminder of your chosen check-out time will be sent to you the day prior. If you need to change the time please contact us to arrange.

Step 6: Help other furbabies in need

The team at Furbaby Retreat are advocates for animal welfare and actively support local organisations that tirelessly look after the less fortunate furbabies throughout Perth. As such, 5% of every Furbaby Retreat booking is donated to Perth-based cat welfare programs that protect and support our furry feline friends. In 2020, we are proud to support:   Cat HavenRSPCA WA, and WA Pet Project.

What our guests are saying…

“Our cat was very well cared for - I don't think she wanted to come home! Jess sent photos everyday, so we could see what she was up to." ~ Stella
